Leaning Committee Signals Major Changes in Sexual Assault Policy
Students held a rally during the Faculty meeting, advocating for improved policies on sexual assault using the Leaning Committee's recommendations. Last year there was a more intense rally protesting the Faculty's approval of a new sexual assault policy's corroborating evidence rule. In response the College appointed a committee to review sexual assault policies. The Leaning Committee's recommendations, eventually approved by the Faculty, include eliminating the corroboration rule, expanding resources for victims, and enhancing educational programs. The Leaning Committee's thorough investigation involved input from various stakeholders and included undergraduates. While student activists appreciate the progress, they remain skeptical of any evidentiary requirements hindering survivors.| Creator |
