Harvard Prof. Dominguez Stripped of Emeritus Status Following Conclusion of Title IX Investigation
Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences Claudine Gay announced in an email that former Government Professor Jorge I. Dominguez has been stripped of his emeritus status and banned from the FAS campus following a months-long investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct. The Office for Dispute Resolution found that Dominguez engaged in repeated "unwelcome sexual conduct" over several decades, violating policies designed to ensure a safe educational and work environment. Dominguez faced allegations of sexual misconduct from at least 18 women over four decades, leading to his administrative leave and subsequent retirement announcement in 2018. The Government department's concurrent review of its culture found prolonged institutional failures that allowed Dominguez’s misconduct to continue.| Creator |
