HMS Professor Files Gender Bias Lawsuit
Dr. Carol A. Warfield, a Harvard Medical School professor, filed a gender discrimination lawsuit against the president and chief of surgery at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. She alleges years of sexist treatment and a hostile work environment under Josef E. Fischer, the head of surgery, and that despite raising the issue, the hospital administration, including president Paul F. Levy, failed to address it, leading to Warfield's demotion in 2007. The suit seeks damages for loss of career, income, and reputation.| Creator |
