Grad Student Killed
Jane S. Britton, a 23-year-old graduate student at Harvard, was found murdered in her apartment on January 7, 1969. Her body, discovered by a friend, showed severe head injuries likely caused by a hatchet or cleaver. Despite no signs of forced entry, an intruder may have accessed the apartment via the fire escape. There are currently no suspects. The building, owned by Harvard, has a history of unresolved security complaints and a previous murder case. Britton, described as talented and attractive, was studying Near Eastern archaeology and nearing the completion of her exams.| Creator |
