Former Prof Sued for Child Abuse

John Doe No. 5, now a 36-year-old father, has filed a lawsuit against Dr. Melvin D. Levine, a former Harvard Medical School professor, accusing him of sexual abuse during his childhood. The plaintiff alleges that Levine sexually assaulted him during psychotherapy sessions from ages eight to thirteen. This lawsuit is the fourth filed against Levine for similar allegations during his tenure at Children’s. Levine's lawyer denies the claims, stating Levine provided care to over 15,000 children in his career. Levine, who left Children’s in 1985, had no recorded complaints during his time there, though a previous allegation was brought to the state board in 1993 but closed without action.
