Three graduate students file sexual harassment suit against prominent Harvard anthropology professor
Three Harvard graduate students, Lilia Kilburn, Margaret Czerwienski, and Amulya Mandava, filed a lawsuit accusing the university of ignoring nearly a decade of sexual harassment and retaliation by Anthropology professor John Comaroff. The lawsuit claims that Comaroff forcibly kissed, groped, and made unwelcome advances towards Kilburn along with threatening the academic careers of the plaintiffs when they reported his behavior. Despite numerous warnings, Harvard allegedly allowed Comaroff to retaliate against the students. The lawsuit also accuses Harvard of mishandling the investigation and improperly obtaining Kilburn's therapy records. Comaroff denies the allegations. The controversy has divided the faculty, with some initially defending Comaroff, but later retracting their support after learning more details.| Creator |
