Bathroom Goes Private
The men's bathroom in the basement of the Science Center now features stall doors, reinstalled after being removed in 1985 due to severe sexual harassment issues. The doors were originally taken out at the request of the Harvard Police Department after complaints from undergraduates and a University employee about harassment and inappropriate activities, including public sex, vandalism, and fights. Science Center Director Nona D. Strauss stated the harassment problem has since been mitigated, allowing for the doors' reinstallation. Strauss warned that if harassment issues re-emerge, the doors might need to be removed again.| Creator |
