Harvard Files to Throw Out Sexual Harassment Lawsuit
Harvard has filed to dismiss a lawsuit brought by Alyssa R. Leader ’15, who alleges the University mishandled her sexual assault case with "deliberate indifference." Leader’s lawsuit claims Harvard's investigation into her complaint and their support services were insufficient. In response, Harvard contends that it took appropriate steps, including initiating an investigation, interviewing Leader, the accused, and 17 witnesses, and providing interim remedies. Harvard argues that failing to meet Leader’s specific remedial demands does not constitute legal violation or injury. Additionally, Harvard defends against claims of negligence, asserting that Leader did not demonstrate that the University could have reasonably foreseen the actions of the accused or failed to maintain a safe environment.| Creator |
