John Cooke ’25 Ousted in Harvard Undergraduate Association Recall Vote
Harvard students voted overwhelmingly to oust Harvard Undergraduate Association Co-President John S. Cooke ’25 from office, with 88 percent in favor of his removal amid misconduct allegations. The recall vote, significantly higher in turnout than the previous HUA election, comes shortly before the end of Cooke’s tenure and after his successors were elected. Despite denying the allegations and dismissing them as "dirty campaign tricks," Cooke was expelled from the Fox Club for misconduct, leading to a petition by the Harvard Feminist Coalition to trigger the recall vote. Cooke's attempts to campaign against the recall, including an email and text message campaign, appeared to violate election rules.| Creator |
