Trial Begins Today For Alleged Rape By Doctor Hussein
The trial of Dr. Arif Hussein, a former resident at a Harvard-affiliated hospital, begins after two weeks of jury selection and procedural motions. Hussein is charged with raping one woman and sexually assaulting another in 1978 while at Waltham Hospital. Over 500 jurors were screened, with many dismissed due to prior knowledge of Hussein's past conviction for a gang rape involving two other doctors. Judge Andrew G. Meyer has ruled that the previous conviction will not be mentioned during the trial.| Creator |
